Why are shipments from Canada to the U.S. changing?
Beginning August 29, 2025, the United States is eliminating its $800 “de minimis” exemption. Until now, most shipments under $800 entered the U.S. without duties or taxes. Starting on that date, all shipments regardless of value will be subject to U.S. Customs duties, taxes, and clearance procedures.
Will this affect my NIKKI order?
If your device is shipping from Canada (such as pre-activated devices): Yes, your shipment may be affected. U.S. Customs could apply duties and taxes before delivery.
If your order ships from within the U.S.: No, you will not be impacted. Domestic shipments are not subject to these changes.
How will I know if I need to pay duties or taxes?
If U.S. Customs applies charges, you will usually be contacted by DHL (or the shipping carrier) before delivery.
You may be asked to pay directly to Customs or the carrier to release the package.
What do I need to do?
If your NIKKI is shipping from Canada, please be aware there may be additional costs or delays.
If your order ships within the U.S., nothing changes.
How will I know if my package ships from Canada?
Most of our shipments are sent from our U.S. warehouse, so in most cases your order will not be affected by the new U.S. Customs changes.
We only ship from Canada in a few special situations:
When we pre-activate a NIKKI device for you before shipping
When you order a strap or other small accessory item
